Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cove iOS application and this website (together, the “Service”), operated by Cove (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Cove is a wellbeing and day-planning companion. It helps you plan your day in time blocks, sync calendars you connect, hold focus sessions with ambient sound, practice breathwork and rest, receive gentle suggestions informed by data you choose to share, and talk with Cove’s built-in AI companion.

Cove supports everyday wellbeing. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Breathwork, body-scan, and sleep content, and any suggestions informed by Apple Health data, are for general wellness only. Always consult a qualified health professional about medical concerns, and never disregard professional advice because of something in Cove. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for safeguarding access to your device and account.
• If you connect third-party services (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Calendar, Apple Health, or an AI provider), your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. You may disconnect them at any time in Cove’s settings.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use Cove. See Eligibility below.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. Cove does not offer parental- or guardian-consent flows; if you are under 16, you may not use the Service, even with a parent’s permission.

Cove’s companion generates responses using an AI provider — Gemini by default, with Claude and on-device Apple Intelligence available in settings. AI-generated content can be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your judgment, and do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Cove for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service.
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
• Use the Service to violate any law or the rights of others.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or access it by automated means other than interfaces we provide.

You retain ownership of the content you create in Cove — your plans, routines, notes, and conversations. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you, such as storing and syncing that content across your devices.

The Service, including the Cove name, the companion character, app design, text, and audio content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license above, no rights are granted to you.

Core rest features — breathwork, body scans, and sleep soundscapes — are free. If we offer optional paid features in the future, they will be billed through the App Store under Apple’s payment terms, and pricing will be shown before you buy. Subscriptions, if any, can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings.

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted to you ends, but provisions that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property and limitation of liability) will survive.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US $50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may update the Service and these Terms over time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will post the updated version here with a new date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
